Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation Launches 2025 Community & Impact Grants Application

Aug. 12, 2025

The Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation invites nonprofit organizations serving the Island to apply for program-based funding through its 2025 Community & Impact Grants process. The application will be launched on Friday, August 8 and is due on Monday, September 29 at 12 p.m. (noon).

Awarding grants to nonprofits that provide services to local residents is at the very core of the Community Foundation’s mission. The foundation encourages requests for new projects as well as continuing programs that offer creative solutions to emerging and persistent issues such as food and housing security, health services, environmental sustainability, and access for people of any ability. During the 2024 process, $530,000 was awarded to 46 nonprofits – the highest-ever level of funding awarded during the annual process. The average award size was just over $11,000.

The 2025 guidelines and application have been revised from previous years; potential applicants are advised to review the Grants FAQs section. Applications must be submitted online by noon on September 29. Awards will be announced in mid-November.

Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation was established in 1982. Its purpose is to put charitable contributions to work for the people of Martha’s Vineyard by providing grants to local public and nonprofit organizations, funding scholarships for Island students and building an endowment that will provide resources to address the community’s needs in perpetuity.
