Peter has served on the Investment Committee since 2018.

Peter began coming to the Vineyard in 1954 at age 2 and has not missed a summer since. Today, he and his family, Nancy and two daughters, live in Charlottesville, Virginia and have a house in Edgartown, where they spend most of the summer months.

Professionally, Peter was Co-Founder and Managing Director of CornerStone Partners LLC, a Charlottesville based asset management firm for endowment and foundation clients, with total firm assets of approximately $10 billion. Since retiring from CornerStone in 2018, he has served as adjunct professor in the Business, Mathematics and Technology Department at Piedmont Virginia Community College, Charlottesville, Virginia and as assistant professor at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. Prior to establishing CornerStone in 1997, he managed his own private equity firm, Naushon Capital LLC, Boston through which he participated in the acquisition, financing or restructuring of companies in a variety of businesses ranging from sophisticated medical research to high technology and innovative sports equipment manufacturing. Before establishing Naushon Capital, Mr. Brooks was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in their Washington D.C. and New York offices. Mr. Brooks is a member of the boards of: the Curry School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia; the Entrega Foundation, Grenada, Nicaragua; Jefferson Education Exchange, Washington, D.C.; Sentara Healthcare, Norfolk, Virginia; and Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation, Tisbury, Massachusetts. Mr. Brooks graduated from Harvard College and received his MBA degree from Stanford University’s Graduate School Business and MA (Administration and Policy Analysis) degree from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education.
