Dear friends and community partners,

This year’s grant recipients reflect a vibrant community that never stops caring and consistently rises to meet the needs of those who depend on them. In the 2021 competitive grant cycle, $228,500 was awarded to 27 nonprofits and organizations working across the Island in a myriad of sectors and specialties.

This year’s grants will be protecting beach-nesting birds, providing invaluable mentorship opportunities in ecologically-focused summer internships, helping young string players travel to perform on the Cape, enhancing afterschool programs, supporting Climate Action Week, supplying winter boots for 300 children, and truly so much more.

The proof of a community foundation is in the work of our esteemed partners. Here’s a closer look at just a few of the initiatives Islanders will be working on in the coming year with the support of these grants.

So far this year, the Community Foundation has distributed over $1,100,000 as we respond to the special needs of the times, and urgent needs in the community. Of course, your continued support makes this work possible. So thank you. Even in the toughest times, our Island is alive with innovative ideas, practical applications, and people with the passion to work hard and give generously. I encourage you to visit our website, here, for the full list of our 2021 grant recipients.

Yours sincerely,
Emily Bramhall, Executive Director
